Murph,in reality radio transmissions were very uneven.They werent great.
Radio channels were often garbled with too many people yacking and a lot of static.The British established stringent rules after the BOB.Often times pilots were told to stay off the radios by their section leaders unless of an emergency.Hand signals were used a lot.It was the leaders call.
German radios stunk according to Gunther Rall.I have a piece of film where he says that like the British they used hand sigs and paid attention to their section or Staffel leaders quck radio directions.
