Sorry, I forgot to mention that I'm running 4.09. Not sure if that is pertinent to the problem or not.

Ok, lets start with basic stuff....

1. have you installed sound mod or mod activator?
2. are you using modable version of 4.09 ( it should be 4.09b1m)?
3. have you force mod installer to extract in to your game root folder ?
