Kelso,
Freddy actually made from scratch many new textures for the 109 (Check the Revi edges, the new floor, different compass, gauges edging, night lighting) and repainted almost all textures including the pit frame, seat, headrest...
Just take a look at all the new .msh and .mat files along with the graphic files compared to the originals in the .sfs.
Obviously, Freddy's work is very different from Oleg's original cockpit and, imo, can be considered as an outstanding improvement regarding genuine historical realism.
Achieving such results means probably a lot of work, time, and historical research as well as programming knowledge above average not to mention a real personnal commitment.
Let's not forget either that this guy, like all other modders here, is working for the benefit of the community and that everything is cost-free. Such generosity in RL is unfrequent nowadays, and for that reason only they all deserve great respect and acknowledgement.
I don't know who the 109 pit belongs to, but when I look at screens of his work on the 109, Freddy's name pop's up in my mind... and a big smile is on my face.
Cheers 8)
