I'm not a coder myself, thus I have no idea if this suggestion is doable in IL2, but ....
In CFS a creative fellow wrote a program called CFO (some of you will no doubt remember it) ... CFO permitted, among other things, the saving of the positions of all aircraft in a mission at the conclusion of the mission session ("Save a Flight" I believe it was called) so that the mission positions could be restored and the mission resumed in a subsequent session.
MS Flight Simulator (on which CFS was built) had/has such an ability built in ... IL2 does not.
I don't know if something similar could be done with IL2, but particularly with the advent of these larger maps such an ability would be "most welcome". With such a utility, long flights on a bomb run from England to Berlin and back, which aren't too far off in the future, could be broken into sections. For example, the first two hours could consist of bombers and escorts taking off, forming up, and reaching rendezvous points, subsequent missions would resume the flight to target, and the return flight home. The entire mission would no doubt be a source of continual battle points, and might well consume six or eight hours.
Anyone out there creative enough to figure a way to do this? It might not be possible, but then, what is going on NOW wasn't thought possible a dozen months ago.
