The 50mm BK-50 wasn't found to be very effective, and hence wasn't used much.

Normal armament for a Me-410A was 2x7.92mm MG17 (1000rpg) and 2x20mm MG151/20 (350rpg) in nose and 2x13mm MG131 (500rpg) in remote controlled turret.

For bringing down bombers from standoff range, high velocity rapid fire weapons were found to be the most effective. The more popular weapon combo's being

There are stories of Me410's flying with three WT-151A pods (give a total of 8x20mm!!!) but I'm still unsure how this was achieved...
