The Scharnhorst class

The are some very intresting maps in progress. For example the channel map. If there whould be a scharnhorst class we can make a "operation cerberus" scenario on the channel map.

Indeed we Could :!: Actually, the Scharnhrst / Gneisenau Battlecruisers are necessary for a complete channel or norway campaign. They were instrumental in both.

Also, you can't have Pearl Harbor without US battleships with Tripod masts, or Okinawa without Yamato class, or the the slot without Kongo class, or Midway without Yorktown class ... you just can't Sad

You are right. There are a lot of other US and japanese ships that can be done. I do not know much about making a 3d model for sturmovik. But if this whould be possible . . . BIG THING!

I had some fun last evening an pasted a 1:200 scaled model of the Scharnhost into our sturmovik bath tub :-)

A little appetizer

very nice!

The Scharnhorst was always one of my favorates. She was sunk on Christmas Day, 1943 while attacking a convoy bound for Murmansk. The British actually made a trap and baited her in. Shame really. They found the wreck and the ship is destroyed. The Scharnhorst was one of the most successful German surface raiders too. Her sister Gneisenau actually survived the war ... in drydock. The British would constantly damage her durring raids and the ship was sold for scrap / war reparations after the war. Both ships could outrun just about everything. I can't remember what happened, but some crazy missfortune caused the Scharnhorst to get captured. If it had not been for some freak occurance, she would have gotten away due to her faster top speed.
