I don't support editing weapons but I used QTims tools to remove everything from the mod except the rocket inaccuracy and it is wonderful.

As for the cockpits: If you look at the external 3d models there are actually three different kinds of canopy frame while there are only two different kinds of internal cockpit models. For the Migs with only two guns I preferred the original cockpit with its worse visibility. Ideally, I would have added a square glass plate but I didn't know where to find the components to add to the *.him file.
In real life some two gun mig-3s did have the later canopy (and the field mods probably didn't). The actual Mig-3s were a range of different production lines and field modifications which could combine a wide range of features, so its not any easy topic to sort out. There were even a few prototypes combining rockets and gunpods with the Mig-3U type of canopy...
Ideally there should be a new slot with an AM-38 field mod that has the air-to-ground weapons as these aircraft certainly existed according to Oleg's data.
