I think the catalyst drivers were the issue. I had made some changes within the settings that I thought would help the situation, but evidently they hindered the situation. I'll have to go back through the settings and mess with them to try to isolate the problem/s.
I tweaked around with the Bios, but when I set the ATI control to default ignoring all settings it made the difference immediately.

A second thought... I constantly have issues with my eyes, small constant headache like I used to get when I ran Analog monitor at 60 hz. I wonder if pushing up this monitor to 75 will help with that? I cannot get it to resolve at 1920x1200 75hz, but it will resolve at 1440x900 at 75.
I'm at 1440x900 now, but I think it's a little late today to determine if it helps. I've been on the computer the greater part of the day at 60 hz.
