The only cable company in my area sucks, GK. The max speed in Japan and in parts of Europe is 60 times the max speed here yet the American cable companies charge the same rate that is charged in Europe and Japan! That's a rip and I'm not going to support it! DSL is no better. They charge almost as much as cable! In addition, they offer no guarantee as to a minimum speed. I've known people who went cable and during peak hours it was as slow as dialup! The companies here won't invest in better equipment and the government won't require them to improve things. So, here we sit, behind much of the rest of the world!
