Thanks for the input! We have downloaded the two demos, and will try them out sometime soon. We are, of course, interested in the online multiplay support.
To keep this a little more on topic...here's what I've accomplished towards getting IL-2 gliders to work in multiplay:
1. I can change the length of the towline!
Whoop-di-doo, eh! sigh
I also changed the tow string Kx and string factor, but not really sure exactly what they are. Changing one of those made the AI glider towlines snap immediately, however, mine still clung to me with a vengeance. In fact, it's possible to kind of use the tug and towline as a winch, dive down, then pull up. You can zoom up thousands of meters that way, but the line just won't break.
There seems to be something that applies to the the AI, but not to a player. Whatever it is, there is some other file(s) somewhere that must hold the key, but I'm pretty much at the end of my tether...pun intended. And of course, there is still no rudder or aileron control on tow, but I can't even confirm if you get those controls back after release.
