I've just finished a mod that adds 40 new squadrons to the game, plus custom skins and MATs and it thus allows all 52 Hurricane and Spitfire squadrons that fought in the Battle of Britain to appear in game with historical skins and markings (at least as far as the limititations of the game allow).

Great idea!

Perhaps you might consider extending this at some point to cover squadrons associated with other aircraft. I'm thinking particularly of the Typhoon/Tempest, Mosquito and Beaufighter (I believe there is not a single squadron in IL2's existing directory that flew Beaufighters in Europe).
