I guess better AI would be possible, but for a non-developer of the game (and even for the original ones) it would be horribly time-consuming, and the computer power needed to run such an AI would be dramatically increased, maybe on the level that top-of the line PCs would only be able to run a flight of four or so on an empty map.

But of course i am happy to be proven wrong on all that.

OK, i know that was mean, but you guys really need to think and consider some things before you make such requests out of another world.
BTW i don't want to sound too authorative here, have fun anyway guys. Just some (mildly) educated guesses here. Smile

Today pc's are more than capable to manage an inproved AI, remeber the original model for this AI was made on 2001 or before and then just upgraded a bit, a new AI wouldn't be a FPS killer in this sim.

just a thought i can be wrong.

Agreed... When I played IL2 for the first time I had a PIII 800mhz, geforce 3 64mb, maybe a 20 gig HD, and about 128mb ram... I now have probably 6 times that power, and the dual core helps...
