The triangular arm of the landing gear legs might be something one could find on a ship model - but I haven't checked them 'cause I'm not sure those parts can be grafted onto aircraft models (don't see why not?)

What about the torque links of the P-80 or P-63 front nose leg? Could they be enlarged and thickened?
