I don't have a "3DO" folder in my root IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 folder. Where exactly do I find these files?
For the first thing, use the sfs extractor. It's in the modding tools section of this forum. With that tool you can extract the sfs files where the game data is stored.
For installing mods, do you have the soundmod already? If not, install it. There should be instructions in the sticky on how to install it.
Then you should have a folder called MODS in you Il-2 root directory. In there go all mods you install. Each mod is in a separate folder and in that folder the file structure of the game's sfs files is recreated.
So for this mod, when it is released, (which i'm looking forward to very much ) there will be a folder called "oil splatter" or something like that, which goes into the MODS folder. In the "oil splatter" folder there is then a folder called 3do with appropriate subfolders.
Sorry for the longwinded explanation. If that was not exactly what you wanted to know, ask more specifically. 8)
