Some of the answers are getting lost among the questions too.

It looks like you only have the lines from the "ADD TO" file as your static.ini

You can get the 4.09bm default static.ini here http://www.mediafire.com/?nwymljutmlf

Copy and paste the lines from Canons "ADD TO" file at the end. (before //=====eof marker)

save file into #:\...tour il2 root..\MODS\STD\com\maddox\il2\objects.

Pls let us know if this is the fix as it may well affect other users with just default statics.
(plates come with FMB+ and Fred used clones of them for his Thailand and the excellent little Scramble map so lines to add were included for those)

Yes, as I said that Static.ini is the only one I can save missions with. I had already tried the default download you pointed me to along with the additions required. This didnt help. Now I have tried adding the Kronstadt section but it has made no difference. using this Static.ini I can see all the objects on the map normally but cant save missions.
