Depends upon your computer. My old Athlon 3500 with a 6800 Ultra did show a small drop in fps with 3D gunners, upgrading to a 4000 and 7950GT eliminated the fps loss. My Intel E6850 and 8800GT rig allows me to fully max out the settings with no noticeable decrease in smoothness of game play.
