Also, check my post above for other info and keep us posted, hope it works.

Try,
1. add 4.08m and open game, should say 4.08m in lower left corner of load screen.
close game

2. pick the mod activator you want, 093 (for new sounds and ability to add mods) or the mod activator 5.0( for mod activation only, no new sounds)
Open game after installing to see if all is well.
close game

3.Install 6dof mod and open game to see if all is well.
Hopefully, play game with no problems

OOPS, REMEMBER TO INSTALL THE LANGUAGE FIX AND THE WRAPPER AFTER INSTALLING 093 OR THE OTHER ONE.

SFX 0.6 is good for mods as well, jsut don't go for 0.7beta, that doesn't support mods.... yet...
