In real life, the vector you would have been given to intercept would not have been directly to where the enemy formation was, but rather where it was expected to be on its present heading when you attempt to make contact with it.. Some of the radar operators could be very accurate as it happens..
I've actualy brought up the map with all icons present to test this actualy, and you are correct mate, sometimes when asking for a vector to enemy aircraft locations, it directs me in totaly the opposite direction where I can clearly see there aren't any, and not towards enemy aircraft I can see on the map.. For that reason I never use it, it's not reliable..
