the Wochenschau was shown in cinemas prior to TV. In other countries of the time, England, USA besides Radio this was the only way to get "living" news to the people, they had their own cinema news version.
I can't see anything politcally offensive in this sentence actually (of course in times of dictatorship and war news was and is propaganda)
has it something to do with this sentence being only there for the German side? was there a similar thing for Russians?
maybe they dropped it with with PF because it was attached to the German side only ( I do not know the pre PF games...)?
