2 Saitek controllers in IL2 1946. HELP!!!
#6

Hi KC Jones, thanks for responding.
Firstly, sure I turned the FF on in the game control panel. I am afriad this problem aint that easy
to solve. I have been through every permiatation of testing. The FF in game is there, but it is so so
slight that it may well not even be there. So, this leads me to my next question. Why are some peoples EVO FF sticks FF every violent and some others (I have read this on other forums) like mine. Hardly worth mentioning. That is weird and very confusing.

Now all you guys reading this and trying to help listen up to what I have discovered. Not a cure yet but maybe an interesting clue. I have found a small program called FEdit. (Force feedback editor) its a tiny program developed by MS years ago. It lets you edit your FF profiles. So what I did was open my FF profiles up in Fedit and had a look at them and tested them using my new EVO stick. The effects I got through my stick were similar to the effects I felt in game (Limp). Interesting.
So that leads me to believe that there may not be a problem with the stick but with the FF profiles themselves in my IL2 folders.

Now the big question is... If this true how the hell did I get different FF profiles in my copy of IL2 than say yours, KC JONES??? I have never touched my FF folder till I got my FF EVO stick.

So what I have to do now is get a set of control profiles (A set of FF profiles that we know is working properly)... So any one of you kind gentlemen who's EVO sticks work properly with
strong FF can email me your ForceFeedback folder (found in your IL2 games directory) and I
can do some tests, maybe that will be the solution.

Oh, If any of you guys want a copy of FEdit, it is a fantastic little utility for editing your FF profiles.
I would recommend that you back up your files first though becuase you could get a little carried away.

So to summerize. I think the problem may not be with the stick but with the FF profiles in IL2.
It is still a mystery how some people have strong profiles and others weak but thats a problem for another day. I have written to IMMERSION. The guys who write the profiles for Saitek Joysticks
and have asked them the question and will probably get the answer after July 4 weekend. I will
be sure to share any interesting info with you guys. But now (asap) can someone send me their working profiles to:

lugnut@vodamail.co.za (I would be most grateful)

And send me your address if you want a copy of FEdit

Lugnut
