Can that be done for a Mustang? Even if the pit was basically left untouched.. except for that spot.. where the pic would go...

Maybe, but just maybe. Cockpits (and planes as well) in IL2 are not done all at once so almost everyone of them is different from others. 3D parts are put together in "different way"; textures are mapped onto 3D object in different manner, that is BTW why are some cockpits looking bad while they have better 3D models. One can do a lot of trickery in one cockpit and very little in the other, and that cockpits looking almost same. So, that’s why it is just maybe.
