discuss only** Thailand-East Burma-Indo-China map
#70

I've had a bit of practice at this sort of stuff. I reckon I know what yer problem is.

If a mission like a downloaded one or a QMB template created from a working version of the map is on your machine, the mission will load, but the game engine will just skip the objects you haven't installed correctly (one of the clever bits of Oleg's design).

When you you want to make your own though, the FMB tries to save the mission, gets to a bit where it doesn't recognise a section of the static.ini for that particular map and just stalls-out in the saving process.

The fault lies in your com\maddox\il2\objects folder. You can only have one of these. It is a quirk of the Mods folder architecture that it will happily read any other folder that is represented in several locations (3Do/Planes folder for example) but the game will read only one com\maddox\il2\objects folder - the first one it finds alphabetically. All the Air, Static, Stationary and techics ini's need to be in the one place for the game to recognise them.

That is the first rule. The other is making sure that your BoB map can save in FMB. Make sure that you install the Blister thing I mentioned earlier. It isn't optional.

After that, if the BoB can save properly, you know you'll be setup to tackle this map too.
If it helps, i've uploaded my own Static.ini here:

The BoB, R1's hangars and Freds Thailand map objects are already entered and working on it.

Raally like to see you get sorted with this. Once you get your head around how the game is structured it becomes childs play. Happy modding! Tongue
