Hi Guys,
Glad installs went ok for ya's
In regards to the "underpopulation" of Darwin, there's a few reasons behind this.
1. Darwin was at the time the Australian city with the smallest population (just over 1000 people in 1911 to around 9000 in 1956) A very sparsely laid out city in the 40's.
2. A lack of suitable buildings for use in an Australian city. This will be changed in future, with the recent release of the mesh tools, houses and buildings more like those found in Australia can be produced and inserted into the map.
3. FPS considerations for those with smaller machines. Nothing worse than having a nice map to create missions with and then finding that you can't go anywhere near the only populated area without having your FPS plummet.
Of course more buildings can be added in a mission if the user so chooses at his/her discression.
@fly_zo.. Thanx for the kudos mate, let me know if you want this as an official AAA map mod and what needs to be done.
Once again, I'm glad you're all enjoying the map and here's to looking forward to the further evolution of this map and IL2 '46 in general.
Cheers, Neil
P.s. Tracks and screenshots of your battles over the map would be great and most appreciated
