[WIP] Campaign for Fabianfred's Thailand map.
#5

Poltava the skin mod is already part of the MODS folder, go skinmod, 3do, planes and the folder that has the image files is there. To create your own skins for static aircraft you need to start your game and go to QMB. Once there select the aircraft you want and apply the skin you wish to appear on the static aircraft. Exit this and go to your IL-2 directory and go into the PaintShemes folder, there you should find a folder called cache, this will only appear if you have ClearCache=0 set in your conf.ini file, found where the missions folders etc. are.

If you have altered your conf.ini correctly this is what you should find, the cache folder looks faded compared to the rest.

Double click this and wait for an age, many folders will appear with numbers, scroll down past these and this is what should appear, in this case I selected the MBR.

Once you click on this folder you will find these four files.

You now need to create a summer folder within the aircraft folder, already done here, and drag the four images into it. Once done the MBR folder in this instance had needed to be re-named as in the planes folder and then copied and pasted over it, job done. There can be a little trial and error here because in the mods folder some folders have to be called Multi1, and some are even wrote slightly different to what is in the PaintSchemes folder, have a look in the planes folder, you will get the idea.

Cracken as far as a scrap with the Yanks goes there is a way to go yet. The war was in three fairly distinct stages. The first was the lead up to and conflict with the French which was followed by a very brief scrap with the japanese as Thailand was occupied.

The second stage was where the Thai's entered the Shan states, on the Burma China border I think, still researching this.

The third stage was the defence of Thailand fron intruding American and British forces quite late in the war.

There is very little information available on the combat exploits of Thailands Air force, so this campaign will be based on what little information is available, primarily at the sites you give links for,
and will probably involve quite a lot of artistic liscence to make it interesting!

Here is the static image for the MBR, the skin is by TCHAIKA.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete.
