GeForce 9600 gt - possible Perfect setting ?
#5

How did you remove the old ATI drivers? Simply using the Windows uninstaller does not always remove all the driver components, I suggest using DriverCleaner Pro.

Install your Nvidia driver, I think the 178.15 WHQL is good, it is on my 8800GT (Win XP-Home SP2).

Run the IL2 setup utility, make sure you select OpenGL.

I would recommend setting up a profile in the Nvidia (or nHancer or RivaTuner, whatever you prefer) tools for Il2, 4xAA and 4x (maybe even more) AF, image set to "Quality", clamp negative LOD bias, conformant texture clamp "on", Extension Limits "off" or set to 0, OpenGL multi-threading "off", CPU multi-core support set to "multi-core".

Now fire up Il2, go to the video configuration screen, make sure Attempt Stencil Buffer is turned "on".

You should now have perfect settings.
