There seems to be some confusion over the sound sample that Paulo Hirth has used. Don't be confused... it is an actual Jumo engine.
Paulo's sample came from this aircraft - Yellow 10. A D13 that underwent one of the most meticulous warbird restorations in recent memory. The video clip I posted not long ago is of this aircraft being turned over.
The Flugwerk D9 that some are refering to is NOT an original D9 with an Allison engine. It is a very, very good replica with a completely different engine mount designed to make up for the 400 pounds of weight difference between a Jumo and an Allison. As you can see from the photo there is a considerable difference between the two.
So rest assured... the sample is authentic.
