is there a mod, or anything in the pipeline, or is it indeed possible, to increase the number of aircraft per quick mission?

There's always the Uberquick tool. See it here http://www.uberdemon.com/index2.html

The main drawback is it only goes up to 4.08 non-modded, BUT does work with all the stock maps. I have 4,09bm modded and I can still use this tool.

I found with that tool in no time I was able to make a mission that brought my machine to a crawl. The Clone Tool works well for making many flights :twisted:
