Hmm...1,400 of 4,777, that's about 30% of the total production amount, almost a third. and we have a 'late' Fw 190D-9, and a 'late' P-38L already, so i don't see why adding a 'late' FM-2 to the game would be so horrible, especially considering its service in two of the biggest campaigns of the pacific war. i think oleg just didn't put it in because it would have been more work and figured by that point most people would want to be flying Hellcats and Corsairs instead of a Wildcat (improved as it may be) and just putting the FM-2 in game with more or less the same armament as the F4F would be enough to wet most people's whistles.
