Yep, us glider pilots have to go through the 5 S's before selecting a field to land in.
Size (sufficient to touch down and stop in)
Slope (Try not to land anywhere with visible slope and if you must then land uphill)
Surface (Grass should be no higher than roughly 1 foot, no visible ricks, ruts etc)
Stock (If theres cattle or livestock, choose another landing field)
Surroundings (Watch out for wires, tall trees etc)
My very first real emergency (thanks to an impromptu hailstorm) had me land at a (now abandoned) domestic airport. Awww yeah 8)
It would be fantastic if in game we could have different effects for different surfaces i.e. smooth grass is OK, rough grass has you bouncing around, long grass grabs your wing and ground loops, soft sand bites your wheels and flips you upside down etc.
