Have the same issue with ATI Radeon HD 4850 (Palit/Xpertvision).
Seems, it have to do with Driver-Compatibility to OpenGL Sources.
It could help, if Oleg would update core.dll's also for DirectX API ... with same quality like on OpenGL.
Sometimes I also habe artefacts on screen for a brick of a second, only if OpenGL is set.
ATI is still DirectX based ... ever was. nVIDIA is specialist on OpenGL :?
