Quote: Bulgarian machines were pretty worn out by 1943-44, frequent gun jams, broken prop pitch and radios, problems with the engines (which were weak), some planes became sluggish and unresponsive
Apparently these problems always plagued the D-520. During Pierre Le Gloan's famous 5-kills mission against the Italians in June 1940, one of his wingmen had to turn back to base because of Prop Pitch problems, while the second suffered a gun jam and had to abort mission too ! Le Gloan himself wasn't flying his usual plane : it was grounded because of engine problems...
And the machines they flew were brand new at the time.
As for radios, well, I hope for the Bulgarians' sake they used there own radios as early WWII French radios were notorious for being plain awful.
Per : Amamzing ! From these few shots it looks like it's well under way, and in capable hands !
It finally looks like I'm going to see my favourite Italians-mauling machine implemented to the game
Cheers
