Many thanks, mate....it's weird, though - my searchlight is still greyed out in FMB??!!??
I'm just going to keep this thread going a bit, and see if we can somehow get to the bottom of this.
Maybe someone can gleam some useful info on the way to a solution.
I mean, here we're talking about an original IL2 object that has just disappeared into thin air!!
I've taken the ini's from AIRdomination (static and stationary), compared them to mine, and there are massive differences in the two.
My static.ini is 337kB, as opposed to AIRdominations, which is 221kB.
Because of the differences in the two files, checked in Winmerge, I decided to back mine up, and use the one from AIRdomination. The result?
Same as before, the searchlight is still greyed out!~!! As I said in the heading, WTF?!?
So, an appeal to a static ini expert, hopefully somebody like fabianfred, who can help me decipher this mystery.
If the problem is not with my static ini file itself, where else could it be?
How can one static ini file see a searchlight object on one game install, and not the other? Of a DEFAULT object?
Where's it gone?
Any help, folks, would be greatly appreciated.
If this was an arbitrary object, such as another house, or somthing, I wouldn't be all that perturbed, but my searchlights? Gone is all that atmosphere in night missions....
How am I ever going to fully enjoy the new night-fighters, without the apprehension of being caught in a spotlight somewhere along the line......
