What it seems to show as a Do 17Z cockpit instrument panel is actually from a Do 217N nightfighter. That picture has been mislabelled in many books as well. You can clearly see the Revi gunsight attached to the combing for aiming the forward firing machine guns in the solid nose - and the compressed air bottles at lower right which actuated the gun breeches. The control column is entirely different to that fitted to the Do 17Z, which was hinged from the pilot's left, not centrally mounted as shown in the picture.
Nevertheless - it might be handy for some instrument detail - or, indeed, a future nightfighter mod :wink:
