Hi all.
First off to answer your question about the first restored scheme. It was incorrect. As Canon said,very rarely do restorers get the paint right especially on German aircraft.

I you look closely in Jerry's book you will see plenty of photos that will verify the scheme.
I'm very familiar with this aircraft as I live in Southern California and have made the drive over to Mesa more than once to see this bird which by the way is now in an air museum in Washington State
With a new set of clothes that still isnt quite right.
