Don't worry about getting an expensive stick if you're unsure about the game.
Get a cheap one first, and try it out. A 360 controller will hardly benefit you in any way, as they're designed for a different purpose...
Go out and have a look, I'm sure you'll find some joystick that is cheap and will help you deceide wether you want to upgrade the joystick or not play the game alltogether... I had the same questions when I started playing, and I now have all the accessories supported by IL-2 apart from rudder pedals, but they're my next buy :wink:
