Vichy French Indochina campaign.
#22

The campaign is now all but finished. The six missions of the Lang Son incident and the twelve missions of the Thai campaign have now been put together and made into the eighteen mission campaign flying for the Vichy French. All briefings are now done and the campaign is being playtested.

The biggest development of recent weeks has been the abilty to now set the aircraft to fly for the actual Vichy squadron E.C. 2/595.

This has been made possible because Vincent, aka vtrelut, asked Gaston if he would add this unit and E.C 2/596 to the morenations mod. A very special thank you to both of them for taking the time and trouble to help with this campaign. I appreciate all your efforts.

Prior to this I had to set the player aircraft to GC 1/7, a Vichy Morane squadron which operated in Lebanon, to ensure the player would be in the aircraft I wanted. The unfortunate thing about that was the GC 1/7 pendant appeared on the aircraft which obviously looked odd to those familiar with French markings.

The aircraft as it now appears set to E.C 2/595, all markings are on the skin. Gaston has set this so that no badges or pendants appear for the aircraft set for E.C 2/595 and 2/596.

Vincent has also sent me two more French tunes to go along with the one Tom, aka Craken, was kind enough to send me. I have converted these to Wav files and will upload all three with the campaign so that individual players can select the one they prefer. The three tunes are Marechal, nous voila!, La petite Tonkinoise and A la France donnons des ailes.

I don't yet know when gaston will update his MoreNationsandsquadrons mod to include the E.C. 2/595 unit so that all the community will be able to play the campaign. I have the necessary files in order to set the campaign up and test it, but don't consider it appropriate for me to make them generally available without Gaston's permission.

Hopefully the next time I post will be to announce the upload of the campaign, until then I wish you all the very best, Pete.
