Just a thought, the Nvidia control panel lets you make settings for different games.

Under 'manage 3d settings' there are 2 tabs, 'global settingsl' and 'program settings' if at any stage you set a profile under 'program' for Il2, changing the 'global' will make no difference in IL2.
