Axis WWII historical aircrafts

They flew like a brick, with all that armor added, and had to be escorted by Bf-109's to drive away the escort fighters, but they were the right tool for the job. The heavy bombers these Sturmbocks were supposed to intercept weren't really known for their dogfighting abilities either, and yes the added protection was much appreciated by the pilots. The ramming attack - some units were doing it regularly (the reinforced wing was capable of slicing through a bombers tail without sustaining much damage itself) but as far as i know it wasn't really as widespread.
