I've done the same with my logitech 3dpro, I'll post some pics. I use the "twistneck" of the stick for the rudder pedals, connecting the whole thing to a gym "stepper".

If there is one suggestion. Try not to use the handle of your old stick, but try and mod something out of the handle. The joystick motors will struggle with the handle so high up(very top heavy)
