Thank you Plantoid1, sharkzz and Easy Rider for your helpful suggestions. I downloaded the mod that reduces airfield influence and it worked like a charm. Now I can take off from almost wherever I want. Even older missions generated by other users invloving taxiing and take-off from unusual locations now work fine. The mission I was building when I posted my initial question is intended to be part of a static offline mini campaign.
