mate, from what i understand, you have the whizzing tracers back, sorted, no probs?
Those sounds did disappear since one of the earlier IL2 incarnations - PF, or somewhere there.
As for the radio chatter, those shouldn't have been affected by the UI, afaik.
Those sounds should all be residing inyour IL2 game folder, like this: IL2/samples/Speech. Inside the Speech folder are all the different nationalities folders, with all their associated voice samples.
Have a look and see that they are there. Another thing to remember is, depending on the mission you're flying, you might or might not hear certain sound samples because they are normally activated at waypoints, etc in the FMB. In a QMB mission, for example, youu might not hear a lot of the sounds simply because they aren't being used...
