Given these Batch files are missing from the UI 1.1 can someone tell me how I get the standard reflector site back on the Spitfires that are given the Gyro sight by default in UI 1.1 ?
For the Gyro sight makers the symbolgy displayed by the K14 and the MKII Gyro are identical.
The MKII Gyro did not have the standard no Gyro reticle as is shown in this mod. In short what we should see is the same as the K14. If the makers are interested in improving the sight I have a combat employment manual for the British MKII Gyro sight.
Ideally an additional mode should be available that displays the small fixed cross (Gun Bore Line refrence) and the gyro reticle. "FIXED+GYRO" with the blanking lever selected. This then allows much easier sight handling and control of Gyro reticle movement on to the desired aimpoint. This should have been included with the original k14 in IL2.
There were 4 Basic display modes for the MKII Gyro Gunsight. The only time the GYRO reticle was displayed on its own was in the GYRO DAY or GYRO NIGHT position.
