How about the rest of your computer??
If it's just IL-2 be sure that your sound is turned on. In the controls screen, scroll almost to the bottom and find "mute" see what key is assigned to it. I think it's "S", "Shift S" or ctrl "S" or alt "S". Turm your sound back on and get rid of that key assignment.
Ya know that little speaker Icon in your systray? Double click on it and make sure both Volume and Wave sliders a near the top. Now select Options then properties, audio input from the drop down and say OK see if your mic volume is too low.
Sometimes other games and apps will goof your sound settings up.
