Stalingrad is dimly on the radar for myself and a couple of other guys in sort of a vague "get to it sometime" way. This shouldn't stop you from taking your own crack, since I sometimes never actually get to stuff.
However, please be aware that there is a whole shopping list of corrections to be made to the map. First, the modder should modify the map_h to create elevations in the south of the city for the Mamaev Kurgan.
Second, the modder should mod the ed_mapc to make the Volga navigable.
Thirdly, it would be lovely if some building creators made specific buildings for Stalingrad, such as Red Oktober, the Traktor Factory, Pavlov's House, etc.
This is just a basic list, although it would make the map far more enjoyable.
