I have no clue why people are so against moving out of WWII... it was not the only war with aerial combat, mind you. :roll:
Just look at the OOF Project! Why aren't people bitching about that? Because it's a grand idea, that's why! IL-2 is so versatile, almost any period of aviation could be modded (we'll see about them supersonic jets or not
