I really wish I could tell you how smart I am and what to do to fix it, but I can't It is working and about the only thing I can figure is this. I rana utility called glary and did one of those generic registry cleaners it foound crap wrong and I let the utility fix them and it works.
I tried a prog called winpatrol but after it "fixed" the regisrty the problem was still there. So I'm looking aroound for hidden or bad progs (using winpatrol) WHEN i REALIZED THIS GLARY WAS INSTALLED ON MY copmp. Sorry shouting. Out of frustration I ran the reg fixer and now the games is good! Hope this helps.
