Just wanted to add that I've always dreamt of simulated modern jet combat in IL-2 by the use of modified X-4 rockets. It would basically be an alteration of the X4 to have a shorter lifespan and different 3D model. The players would have to guide these missiles theirselves to the target and that would be the simulation of guided missiles. I think it could be very fun and a good substitute to normal dogfights.. Of course, cannons only would be very awesome too
