What do you mean with hydraulic failure, isn't that already in-game? Except if you are referring to "random" failures...

I think it is. I can only say that I think it is because it seems no matter how shot up I am, my gear still comes down (unless a leg has been shot off, which I've seen once). That said, I never try to drop my gear for engine-out landings, so it might not come down then...
