Another thing you could try is to know which is the key binding for 'Centre View' ... at least I think thats what its called. From time to time I find myself looking hard over my right shoulder without trying/wanting to ... some bug that happens inconsistently. All I then do is to hit the key to return to 'Centre' View & viola!
