How to land the B-17?
#12

- Since first attempting to land all the different types in IL2 I have followed the well known method of taking the thing up to 3000ft and finding out at what speed the type stalls at with approach configuration (gear and full flap) approach power set, and a rate of descent appropriate to the type (500ftpm in this case)
- The B17 drops a wing at around 80mph on the ASI, so your target threshold speed is usually x 1.2 and therefore around 100mph IAS.
- A while back, I made a track complete with voice over using an ntrk with 4.09 on Canons lovely Channel map.
- It is about a couple of minutes long and if it helps anyone with landing the B17, well that is great.
- You will need manual view to get the best indications of speed, ROD etc. (it is an ntrk so the slip indicator is I'm afraid awry!)

I owe you one Reflected for your great QMBPlus missions.
Good luck
